The Rest of the Beach

So, it goes without saying that we had a ton of fun moments at the beach:

And then this happened. Well, the crab wasn't to blame. It was actually delicious. Only Jim and Ali barely got to eat the yummy seafood feast they prepared because Thomas started throwing up right as dinner started. And it continued. For 4 hours. Poor kid was puking in his sleep!

BUT the next day, he was fine! So the fun continued! We went out to dinner at Bahama Bob's. Yum! "How many highchairs do you have??"

I really wanted one of those great, sweet, sisters-holding-hands-walking-down-the-beach shots, but they just wanted to run from each other!

And ponder the ocean and all their deep thoughts...

See? SOOO not in the mood to fulfill my vision, ha!

Sadly, that very night at midnight we were woken by Kinley. Vomiting. For 5 hours. When we woke up around 9, we came downstairs to discover that Thomas was puking again. And Kallen hurled twice, but kept on playing and eating. And Zachary was sick, too! Argh! Did I mention that Allison was sick on the drive to the beach? Anyhoo, Kinley ran fever most of the day and slept, but didn't get sick anymore. Yea!, right? Well, no. The next day, Jeff was sick. All day. That evening he felt better just in time for this lovely surprise!

Seriously, someone a couple of doors down from us had this random, spectacular, better-than-most-4th-of-July-fireworks show! Ali and Jim's kids had already headed to bed, but they gladly got back up to watch the show. It was incredible!

That night I woke up vomiting at 2:30. And then Kinley got up and puked, too! Argh! However, we slept a few hours after the sickness ended and managed to make it to the pool by 10. Dedication, I tell ya!!

That evening was our last, so our little fam of 4 had an outing to Lillian's Pizza (yum!) in Perdido before heading back home to discover my parents had left while we were gone due to their cat at home getting sick while boarded. Well, not really sick, just dramatic! Poor thing didn't eat the entire week. She's fine, FYI :)

Despite the illness, we all had a blast. It was awesome to get to spend so much time with all of our family and the kids definitely had a blast. And Kallen did really well (mostly) in the car. Maybe we won't have to wait so long for our next trip :)
