Happy Birthday, Kallen!

Our big girl turned one this week! Wow, what a year this has been. From the sleepless nights to the hip surgery/body cast, back to the sleepless nights, to her cast removal/newfound freedom... well... wow. To say it's been an eventful year would be an understatement! I'm glad to say we are finally sleeping at night. Usually. And Kallen is as mobile as can be. She can scale a flight of stairs in no time, crawl faster than I can chase her, and is trying to walk.

She is such a sweet, smiley, funny little girl. She loves to play with her sister. She likes to spit things out on the first bite even if it's something she knows she likes. She holds onto her ear while she falls asleep. She crawls on her tiptoes and hands.

It's hard to believe a year has gone by, but then again, it feels like she's been around forever.

On her real birthday, we decided to take a break from the unpacking and head to the sprinkler park for a picnic and some watery fun.

Not sure why Kinley is doing this Wonder Woman-esque pose, maybe it's the outfit...

We ended the day with a great dinner at Vinegar Jim's with Gigi, Pop and Gram and headed back to our house for fried pies and some lawn surfing. Kinley was pulling the hammock around and Kallen was chasing her trying to hitch a ride. Too funny!
