Best. Day. Ever.!!!

58 days in a body cast. Done, at long last!!!

Nervously waiting to get X-rays done and be sent to the cast room

They told us she would be nervous when the cast came off, kind of like losing a security blanket.

She smiled.

She was so excited that the cast was gone, she wanted to go see all her preschool friends.

We stopped at Sonic after leaving school for a favorite snack, mozzarella sticks and lemon slush :)

They told us it would take about a week for her to start walking with the walker.

She started walking that same day when we got home and would not stop.

She was a bit nervous about taking a bath for the first time in two months, but did great!

She has been missing bubble baths!!

That evening after Kinley got home from school and Daddy got home from work, we went out for a celebratory dinner at Steak n Shake, yum!

Then, off to Sweet 'n Sassy!

She was so very, very excited!

And hugged the Sweet 'n Sassy puppy tightly

Kallen's best buddy/teacher from her preschool also happens to work at S 'n S and came in special to pierce her ears for her!

She didn't flinch. She didn't even want a hand to hold.

No tears! All smiles!!

Kinley had one last surprise for the day. Kallen has never gotten a trophy whereas Kinley has several. She thought Kallen deserved a trophy too, and presented her with the Best Sister trophy :)

Kinley was as excited as Kallen that the cast was gone, if not more so! She has missed being able to play with her best friend. Kinley has been such an amazing sister throughout, never acting jealous of the attention Kallen has received, and never being frustrated at the situation we have dealt with. She has slept in a twin bed with her, eaten on the couch with her, pushed her in her wheelchair, included her in all her games by "changing" them so that Kallen could play. I think she deserves an award, too!! These girls are such sweet sisters and friends. I am so proud to be their Mommy.
