Kallenpalooza

Wow! This has been a b-u-s-y weekend, but a great one! We've decided that Kallen is one very lucky little girl to have a birthday so close to 4th of July. The parties just never stop! Yes, we did celebrate her birthday with Kinley just a few weeks ago, but how can you not have another party at such a great time of year??

Kallen's actual birthday. The girls are showing off their singing birthday cards.

We took the girls to the mall for chicken nuggets, a train ride...

a carousel ride, a trip to the Disney store...

and cookies!

Then, we stopped at a park to play a while.

"How old are you, Kallen?" "Two!"

Such girls--they're inspecting the slide for bugs before sliding

Kallen gets some love from Daddy!
And then home to prepare for the next day's party! Fireworks!

I tried several times to take a self photo of us girls...well, you see how that turned out!

The next day was party-day! Bud and KK brought one more present for Kallen to open--a pool for our backyard! Yea!

All the girls are here! L to R: Kallen, Olivia, Kinley, Isabella, Lucy
Jackson must have escaped the girliness for a few minutes

mmmm.... cupcakes. Slightly gooey cupcakes...

Birthday girl!
Sweet cousins

The whole gang!

"Happy Birthday to you!!"

Yes, new outfit. The kiddos got crazy with a water hose while waiting on cupcakes! In hindsight, we should've just let her stay wet until after the cupcakes. And then play in the water some more! See below:

Yum!

Eww!

After getting the kiddos cleaned up, we all played outside and watched the guys play cornhole. Then, FINALLY, it got dark enough for sparklers!
All of the kids LOVED the sparklers. Surprisingly, we only had one minor burn from them! Poor Kallen... but she got over it quick and was ready for fireworks!

Everybody watching the show
A note about Kallen's personality: every child eagerly went to sit with a parent when the fireworks were going on. Kallen sat with me for a minute or two, and then decided it was a much better view if she sat in the front, middle of the driveway all by herself. Independence Day, indeed!
Hope you all had a great 4th of July!
